European lumber consumption shows positive outlook
A generally good outlook for the three UNECE subregions (Europe, Russia and North America), in combination with favourable markets in Asia and improving results in North Africa and the Middle East, points to positive developments ahead in the global softwood lumber business. These are some of the take-away messages from the Sawn Softwood Chapter of the UNECE/FAO Forest Products Annual Review 2016–17.
