Recovery expected for global construction equipment industry in 2017
Global sales of construction equipment are expected to increase seven per cent this year, according to updated forecasts from specialist market intelligence company Off-Highway Research. The number of machines sold in 2017 is expected to reach 695,142 units worldwide, compared to the 650,133 pieces of equipment sold in 2016, which represented the bottom of the industry’s economic cycle. David Phillips, managing director of Off-Highway Research said, “Sales of construction equipment last year were affected by weak economic growth worldwide and low global prices for many commodities. These factors had a knock-on effect for the demand for most types of machinery, particularly equipment used in mining and other extractive industries. However, with commodity prices rising as 2016 went on, sales picked up in a number of key markets.” Of particular significance this year is the... Continue reading →

Global forestry machine market to witness declining sales due to Covid-19; long-term outlook positive
The global forestry machinery market will witness declining sales in the near term amid the COVID-19 outbreak, but the long-term outlook remains positive. The global forestry machinery market is expected to be valued at over US$4 billion by the end of 2020 and is anticipated to surpass US$6 billion by the end of the forecast period of 2020-2030. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted the growth of the industrial equipment machinery market due to nationwide lockdowns, leading to a steep fall in the sales of forestry machinery, globally. In addition, high initial investment of forestry machinery adds another layer of complexity, as several users are hesitant to invest in new forestry machinery at this time. This, in turn, is expected to see a decline in the demand for forestry machinery in the near future. However, ongoing development plans formulated to boost the... Continue reading →

Finnish forest machine manufacturer Logset signs dealership agreement in Brazil
Finnish forest machine manufacturer Logset Oy and Brazilian heavy equipment dealer PESA (Paraná Equipamentos S/A) have signed a dealership agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, PESA will sell Logset machines, parts and services for the products manufactured by Logset. PESA’s territory of action covers the Southern Brazilian states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. Through Logset forest machines, PESA gains technology leadership in CTL systems. Logset machines fit perfectly to PESA’s CAT machine range. “We’ve wanted to improve our presence in Brazil for some time, and the talks we had with PESA developed smoothly into an agreement. The Brazilian forestry is expanding fast. The Southern Brazilian states are rich in pine, which suits Logset’s harvester heads perfectly. For the Southern eucalyptus areas, the Logset TH65 Euca is the perfect... Continue reading →
