Malaysia: MIFF 2019 crosses billion dollar sales mark
Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF), the industry’s largest marketplace in Southeast Asia, has topped the billion-dollar sales mark for the first time in its 25-year history. Its organiser, United Business Media (M) Sdn Bhd (UBM Malaysia), said exhibitors at MIFF 2019 raked in US$1.01 billion (RM4.21 billion) in sales over the four days starting March 8, a three per cent increase from the previous high of US$984 million in 2018 The record performance was achieved a year after the trade show was expanded to 100,000 square metres across the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre and the Putra World Trade Centre with design as its cornerstone, it said in a statement today. Italian furniture sector is more open to exports to countries outside Europe
The Italian furniture sector exports more and more to non European Countries, such as many other segments of the woodworking industries in various European countries. One of the symbols of these growing interactions is the second edition of The Salone del Mobile Milano Shanghai (which can be loosely translated as Furniture Fair Milan Shanghai) which takes place in China in November 2017. 190 Italian enterprises showcase their products at the Fair, twice as much as in the previous year, EOS reports. The increasing importance of non European markets is not limited to China: the sector is looking also at the MENA Area, and countries which were part of the former Soviet Union. This year's International Woodworking Fair is sold out
This year’s International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta is not only the most important industry show of the year in US, but it is also going to be a sold out event with more than 1,010 exhibitors and strong attendance. Tom Onsrud, IWF 2016 show chairman and president of C.R. Onsrud, says this year’s fair is also going to feature nearly 300 first time exhibitors and hotel bookings and registrations are now running more than 30 per cent ahead of 2014. IWF Atlanta, Aug. 24-27, at the Georgia World Congress Center, will occupy more than 500,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space and offer their largest conference schedule ever, with 60 educational sessions and 6 full-day symposiums on flooring, composites, closets, finishing, veneering, countertops.
