Russia: Segezha Group to start production at its 250 thousand m2/yr CLT plant in September 2020
Segezha Group timber industry holding will build a plant on the basis of Sokolsky DOK to produce engineering material new for Russia for construction. The first CLT panel will be released here in a year - in September 2020. The production capacity of the new line will be 250 thousand m² of products annually. According to the plan, by the end of next year - the beginning of 2021, the CLT-panels of the plant will enter the market. The cost of the investment project is estimated at 3 billion rubles. At the moment, the repair of the roof of the building, facade cladding has been completed, storm sewage has been arranged. Repair work has also been carried out in the workshop premises, and contractors are being searched for further repairs. CLT comes to Australia
Australia’s first Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) manufacturing plant will be built by XLam in the Albury Wodonga region, representing a $25 million investment and creating 54 local jobs. Announced on May 22nd, the high tech sustainable timber facility will produce 60,000 m3 of CLT each year, which is enough to construct the equivalent of one Forte Melbourne – Australia’s greenest apartment building – every week. The final site of the construction will be announced in the coming weeks.
