German wood pellets cheaper due to the mild winter
In May, the price of wood pellets in Germany has decreased on average by EUR 7/tonne, as the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association (DEPV) reports. The price for a tonne of pellets is currently EUR 250.48; per kilogram -EUR 25.05 cents; or 5.01 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh). Thus, wood pellets are cheaper by 2.6% over April and 5.1% over May 2013. Compared to fuel oil, pellets have a price advantage of around 38%.
