Finland: Half a million cubic metres more sawn softwood produced in 2017
In 2017, the Finnish forest industry production increased in the majority of the main product categories. However, the production of mechanical pulp and paper decreased in comparison with the previous year. The production volumes of sawn softwood goods increased by half a million cubic metres to 11.9 million cubic metres. The proportion of spruce has increased in recent years and, in 2017, a total of 6.2 million cubic metres of spruce sawn goods were produced, says Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) in a report.
