US lumber prices down 57% yoy, below pre-pandemic levels
US lumber is currently at $356 per 1000 board feet. This is down from the peak of $1,733, and down 57% from $827 a year ago. Prices are below the pre-pandemic levels of around $400. There is somewhat of a seasonal demand for lumber, and lumber prices usually peak in April or May. We didn't see a significant run-up in prices this Spring due to the housing slowdown.   ...
