U.S. softwood lumber production rises while Canadian output drops in H1/2018
U.S. sawmills produced 17.758 billion board ft. (bbf) of softwood lumber in the first half of 2018, an increase of 5.1% from 16.898 bbf in the same period last year.    Western U.S. sawmills produced 7.416 bbf of the six-month total, a gain of 7.2% from 6.915 bbf a year earlier, while southern mills produced 9.504 bbf, up 3.5% from 9.183 bbf.    In June alone, production was 2.976 bbf, up 0.5% from last year’s 2.962 bbf, but ...
