Hasslacher Group to take over German wood processing company
The Hasslacher Group has taken over another company, namely Dickel-Holz GmbH & Co. KG. The nationally and internationally active company was founded 75 years ago by Ludwig Dickel in Schmallenberg-Bad Fredeburg (Germany). The takeover is subject to the approval of the competition authority. Christian Dickel will remain managing director for the time being and will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity. Binderholz makes another major UK takeover
BSW Timber Ltd, the largest integrated timber and forestry business in the UK, and a part of Binderholz since the beginning of this year, has acquired Scott Group, a leading supplier of timber pallets and bespoke timber packaging solutions. With the takeover of the Scott Group by BSW Timber, the annual turnover of the Binderholz Group increases to almost €2.8 billion/year. Based near Dunfermline in Scotland, with an annual turnover in excess of £250m and 1,300 employees, Scott Group is an award-winning, sustainable manufacturer of new, bespoke, and reconditioned timber pallets, producing over 30 million pallets per year. West Fraser Timber denies Kronospan, CVC takeover
West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. says it has not received any takeover offer after a report that Kronospan, an existing shareholder, and CVC Capital Partners were interested in making a bid for the company. West Fraser says it previously met with Kronospan and the private equity firm, but it has not received a proposal and there are no ongoing discussions regarding the terms of any transaction. It says it is focused on "executing on its business strategy to create shareholder value." A media report suggested that CVC Capital and wood panel manufacturer Kronospan had submitted a joint expression of interest in buying the company.
