Pellet production faces slight increase in Germany
Germany’s pellet market had a difficult year because of the heavy prices decrease on the oil market, according to the DEPV (German Energy Wood and Wood Pellet Association). Also, due to this decrease, only 16,000 boilers and furnaces were put into service and about 2 million tonnes of pellet products were manufactured. Andreas Lingner, DEPV Chairman, stated that this represents an important commitment for the energy transition in the heating market. The renewable heating market has faced a difficult year in 2015 and instead of the 40.000 pellet boilers and stoves forecasted, only 32.500 pellet boilers and stoves were sold nationwide. This represented a 10% decrease compared to 2014, when only 38.500 pellet boilers and stoves were sold.
