Graanul Invest’s Estonian wood pellet plants apply for SBP certification
Graanul Invest informed that the company’s Imavere and Ebavere wood pellet plants in Estonia are applying for SBP certification. According to the announcement,the assessment will be carried out by NEPCon Estonia. The first evaluations are scheduled for December 2016. Imavere pellet plant was the first plant of the Graanul Invest group. The development of the project started in 2004 and the plant was completed in February 2005. The plant has 4 pellet presses. Canfor to build 2 pellet plants
Canfor Corporation plans to construct a pellet plant at each of the company’s Chetwynd and Fort St. John sawmill sites. The pellet plants will be constructed and operated in partnership with Pacific Bioenergy Corporation. The two plants will have a combined annual production capacity of 175,000 tonnes of wood pellets, the sale of which is tied to a long term agreement with a power utility customer. The total investment of $58 million will include electrical self- generation capacity of 3 megawatts supported through BC Hydro’s Power Smart Load Displacement Program.
