Moelven shuts down one of three production lines in Norway
A week ago, Moelven Byggmodul AS reported that the production line in Hjellum, Norway, will be shut down. The background to the decision is increasing costs at all levels and a lower demand for building modules. Around 50 employees will be affected by the closure of the production line. Demanding market CEO Frode Henning Killi at Moelven Byggmodul says that the reason for the layoffs is the demanding market, where increased costs at all levels have caused a strong brake in the housing segment. ''Based on the market situation, and with the potential we have on our two existing production lines at Moelven Byggmodul's factories, we should still be able to handle our customers' needs,'' says Killi.
