Egger: Demand significantly lower, outlook uncertain
The Egger Group closed the first half of its 2022/2023 financial year (reporting date 31 October 2022) with consolidated sales of Euro 2.26 billion (+14.0% as compared to the previous year). However, the highly volatile general conditions are also a challenge for the wood-based materials manufacturer: it is forced to register a noticeable decline in demand. The first half of the 2022/23 financial year was marked by a multitude of crises and uncertainties, both economically and politically. Egger to expand production in North America
Egger Wood Products announced that it intends to invest $50 million in additional equipment for its Davidson County, North Carolina facility. Eggers has 20 plants worldwide, but the plant located in Linwood, NC is its first North American facility. The new $20 million lamination line, which will be the third located in the plant, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2022 and will increase the plant’s thermally-fused laminate production capacity by 50%. EGGER wants to expand particleboard production in Gagarin
In 2011, the Austrian panel manufacturer EGGER acquired the Russian particleboard manufacturer “OOO Gagarinskiy Fanerniy Zavod” in Gagarin. Last weeek, the Russian media reported that EGGER will invest approximately 1 billion rubles (EUR 20,4 million) in expanding its capacity at Gagarin. The investment project is called 'Production of veneered particleboard (CT 4)', and consists in the construction of new production areas, procurement and installation of equipment. The plant will create 25 new jobs. Gagarin, situated 150 km west of Moscow, has a raw particleboard production of 500,000 m³ capacity and an upgrading capacity of 20 mill. m² per year. Interview with Thomas Leissing on Egger Group’s future development in South America
Following the announcement made by the Austrian company Egger Group about the acquire of the industrial assets of Masisa Argentina, Thomas Leissing, spokesman for the group's board of directors, presented back in August in the City of Buenos Aires, the plans that the company developed for the domestic market and the projection of its operations within Latin America.
