Sweden: Softwood lumber exports grow considerably in 2015
In the first eleven months of 2015, Sweden has exported about 11.7 million cubic meters of sawn and planed softwood lumber. This represents a 15% increase over the same period of 2014. Main export markets for the Swedish lumber were the United Kingdom and Egypt, followed by Germany and Norway. In particular, exports to Egypt dropped by -11% over January-November 2014, down to a volume of 1,17 million cbm, a signal that the overall political crisis in the country is influencing exports.
