Polish company Andrewex has acquired a wood processing plant in Sweden, from the Swedish group Rörvik Timber.
Andrewex bought the plant situated in Tvärskog because it brought no profitability for Rörvik because of the high raw material price. Rörvik closed the sawmill in January 2016 also because of the decline in sawn timber prices, the loss of customers from the Arabic countries, which made for 20% of the sales and the strong competition on the local market.
The Tvärskog sawmill has a processing capacity of 300,000 m3 roundwood per year and it’s equipped with dryers, a lumber production line and KVH (solid structural timber) production line (solid structural timber). The KVH will be very useful for the company because of its demand on the construction market. Also, the timber produced in Sweden will be used by ABWOOD (Anderwex subsidiary) to implement furniture production on behalf of IKEA.
Andrewex is specialized in the production of garden products and large-size wooden structures and ABWOOD, which is a supplier of furniture for IKEA, owns a sawmill and a furniture plant in Slawno, Poland.
