Steady increase for the US red oak exports

Log exports from the US during the first three quarters of 2017 were stable, at 1.563m m³, when compared to the same period last year. Yet, the distribution of wood species changed. Red oak exports grew by 64%, to 451,981 m³, accounting for 29% of the total log exports from the US. Maple exports, for example, one of the species of wood in the reference period of 2016, decreased by 12%, to 292,741 m³ and their share of the total exports decreased accordingly to 19%.
