Södra plans to increase sawn timber production

Closing down the Tofte mill back in August, clearly affected Södra's profits for 2013. The total costs for the closure ammounted SEK 817 million (EUR 92,2 million). Despite this, Södra Timber division managed to both improve operating profit and increase its production by 12%.    Södra Timber's operating profit amounted to SEK -217 million (EUR -24,5 million). This improvement in its profit is due mainly to an increase in volumes, an increased sawing yield and reduced costs. Production amounted to 1,624 000 cubic metres (2012: 1,451 000).  ...
