New Zealand: Export prices for logs rising due to higher prices in China and lower ocean freight costs
At wharf gate (AWG) prices for logs delivered to ports around New Zealand increased on average 12-13 NZD per JASm3 over the last two months. This is due to a combination of increases in the CFR sale prices in China and a reduction in ocean freight costs. A grade logs from New Zealand now sell for up to 142 USD per JASm3 in China and 155 USD per JASm3 in India.
