Metsä reduces LVL and glulam production

Metsä Wood, the wood products business area of Metsä Group, is beginning statutory labour negotiations in order to adjust production in response to decreased demand at its Kerto LVL mills in Punkaharju and Lohja (Finland), and at its glulam mill in Hartola (Finland), the company said in a press release. The negotiations announced today concern some 370 people in total.    Metsä says the this decision comes after the prolonged and strong decline in the construction industry which continues in Finland and throughout Europe.
