Lumber prices in the US increased, due to strong sales growth
Trading in framing lumber in the US eased during last week, but not enough to slow the upward momentum of many framing lumber species. Gains were especially sharp in the West, and Douglas Fir and Fir&Larch in particular. Sharp double-digit increases pushed many prices further into record territory. Meanwhile, trading heated up in Southern Pine, and producers easily garnered higher prices, which were still far more competitive compared to other species.
