Japan’s softwood lumber imports from Sweden and Finland dropped by more than a third in August 2026, as total purchases fell 29.4% year on year to 242,792 m³. European suppliers retained a substantial share of the market, but shipments from the Nordic countries and Austria remained below last year’s levels.
