Registration is now open for the 70th International Softwood Conference (ISC) taking place this year in Copenhagen on October 12-13.
The Danish Timber Trade Federation, together with the European Organisation of the Sawmill Industry (EOS) and the European Timber Federation are organising the event which is expected to attract softwood industry stakeholders, including sawmillers and trading companies. Typically, more than 180 experts from four continents join the annual meeting.
Organisers are holding it as a hybrid event but want to encourage as many people as possible to attend physically.
“We are living through extraordinary times, which makes this conference more important than ever,” the organisers said.
“The pandemic, the tragic war in Eastern Europe and climate changes all have a profound impact on the economy and on the softwood industry as well. How do we as a worldwide industry deal with all this?”
Keith Fryer, long-time moderator and former president of the UK Timber Trade Federation, will guide through the 70th ISC 2022 followed by a gala dinner at the historical Moltke’s Palace.
The event is sponsored by Stora Enso, Forest Economic Advisors, Termolegno, Versowood and Ligna.
