Housing starts drop 11% in US
US housing starts fell 11.1% in May to an annual rate of 1.04 million, following a sharp rise in April, when starts rose to the fatest pace seen since 2007. Starts for single-family homes declined by 5.4% to an annual rate of 680,000, while starts in buildings with at least five units dropped by 18.5%, to a pace of 349,000.
