German Leag takes over Sweden’s largest pellet manufacturer
The East German energy company Leag signed the purchase agreement for the Swedish wood pellet producer Scandbio AB and its subsidiaries on October 10, 2024. With the planned acquisition, the German Leag Group is expanding its activities in sustainable biomass production to the Scandinavian market. With Scandbio AB based in Jönköping, Leag, which is already one of the five largest German wood pellet producers with its German business, is now also taking over the Swedish market leader for pellets.
