France will get to have its largest residential building from solid wood made with CLT (Cross Laminated Timber). Stora Enso has taken upon the project "QUAI DE LA BORDE" and it will provide some 1800 m3 of CLT. The building will have 140 apartments and its construction will be completed within 13 months.
The building will be completed on such short notice thanks to the completely pre-cut CLT, which was manufactured in the Bad St. Leonhard in Austria, Stora Enso’s unit. Also, Promicea, a company which sustains wood-based solutions for residential building projects in France, will help to complete the project.
There is a growing housing demand for innovative and environmentally new concepts in France and this large residential building will make use of sustainable produced and certified wood sourced mainly from Austria.
