European softwood lumber production on the rise; prices down
There was a steady increase (+2.9%) in Europe’s softwood lumber production last year, driven by growing consumption and stronger overseas demand. Output has expanded steadily since 2012, reaching 107.8 million m3 (45.7 billion bf net; ~73 billion bf nominal) in 2016, with nearly every major producing country showing growth.
