EU Commission agrees sale of Garnica to Carlyle
The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the acquisition of Spain's Grupo Garnica Plywood by US group Carlyle. Carlyle is a global alternative asset manager with investments across multiple disciplines. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns, given the lack of horizontal overlaps and vertical links between the companies' activities.
