China and the United States agreed to restart consultations; the US will no longer impose new tariffs

On June 29, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with US President Trump in Osaka, Japan.

During the meeting, President Xi Jinping and US President Trump agreed that China and the United States should resume economic and trade consultations on the basis of equality and mutual respect. The US side said it will no longer impose new tariffs on Chinese exports. The economic and trade teams of the two countries will discuss specific issues.
