China now the first world buyer of Finnish softwood lumber
Finland’s softwood lumber exports grew by 7% during the first half of 2017, as compared to the same period last year. The Finnish sawmills exported a total of 4,83 million m3 of planed and sawn lumber, against 4,53 million m3 exported during the first half of 2016.    The main destinations for the Finnish softwood lumber were the European Union and Asian countries. Thus, exports to the EU amounted to 1,76 million m3, 7% more than in 2016, while the Asian countries imported 1,55 million m3, 40% more than in January-August ...
