China: Timber prices are at historic highs
Chinese log import prices have recently increased again due low availability of wood, transport difficulties (rising ocean freight rates). The prices of European spruce and New Zealand's radiata pine are approaching the highest prices in history, Chinese companies told GWMI. The market is reportedly unstable, with current prices changing almost every day.
