Brazil faces potential 25% U.S. tariffs under Section 301 ruling

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has proposed an additional 25% tariff on imports from Brazil following a Section 301 investigation that concluded several Brazilian policies and practices are unreasonable or discriminatory and burden U.S. commerce.  The investigation examined six areas that USTR believes affect the competitive position of U.S. companies.  The first concerns digital trade and electronic payment services.
