Austria: Sawlog prices stable in October; demand from sawmills low
Persistent economic uncertainties, constantly rising costs in all areas and a lack of new orders continue to reduce sawn timber sales. The demand for softwood sawlogs is correspondingly low. While in Upper Austria the demand slightly exceeds the supply, in the rest of Austria the demand is covered by the quantities arising from the processing of damaged wood. If transport capacities are available, the removal is quick and any delays are limited. The prices mostly remain unchanged.
