The storm, snow and rain events in mid-September caused damage to trees and forestry infrastructure, particularly in Styria and Lower Austria. However, the resulting damaged wood does not put any pressure on the supply of sawn logs in October, because there is no time pressure for processing due to the bark beetle's hibernation. In addition, in some areas the damage to the forest roads must also be repaired in order to be able to process the damaged wood.
