- 15 million m3 of softwood logs have been exported from Europe to China from January to October 2019, a 450% yoy rise;
- Most of the logs are damaged either from storms or from the bark beetle infestation which occured in Central Europe;
- The oversupply of logs caused also a sharp drop in export prices: European spruce logs are now down to about €95–96/m³ (US$105/m³) from €117 per/m3 (US$130/m3) in 2019/Q2.
